1970 – 1975

Completed formal apprenticeship
(United Kingdom City & Guilds) as Radio and Television Engineer.

1975-1979/>
Employed in the Radio and Television industry as a Service Engineer. Responsible for
servicing of the following equipment:

Radio Receivers
Black and White
Television
Colour Television
Audio Recording (Tape Recorders)

/> 1979 (December)

Joined the Decca Navigator Company, England.
/> 1980

After completion of In-House training, commenced tour of duty in the Persian
Gulf as maintenance engineer on the Decca Navigator MK10 Radio Navigation System. Tour of duty cut
short due to political unrest in that region.
Returned to the Decca College, Brixham, Devon
for further training.
Travelled to the Republic of Ireland (November) for temporary relief
work on the Irish Decca Navigator MK10 System.


1981

Completed
Irish assignment, and after a further training course at the Decca College, commenced tour of duty
in NIGERIA, as a maintenance engineer on the Decca Navigator type 9950 Radio Navigation System./>
1982

Completed tour of duty in Nigeria. Returned to England for further
training at the Decca College. After completing temporary relief work in England and the Channel
Islands, commenced tour of duty of SOUTH AFRICA, as maintenance engineer on the Decca Navigator type
1880 Radio Navigation System.

1983 – 1985

Completed further tours of
duty in South Africa.

1985

Overseas based contract work ceased.
Became permanent resident and full time employee of Decca Contractors South Africa. Moved away from
the “Navigator” system and joined the recently formed Airports “Ground Systems” Division of
Decca.

1985-1992

Worked as Installation/Commissioning/Service engineer
on the following projects:

1988


In November installed the ATC Tower and
dual NDB at Thaba 'Nchu in Bophuthatswana, for the Bophuthatswana Department of Civil Aviation.
This involved the installation and commissioning of a dual Racal-Decca RDB 100 NDB, working into a
symmetrical "T" Antenna.

At the Airport ATC room we installed a complete
VHF ground to air communications system, incorporating main and standby equipment configuration with
emergency backup transceiver. A voice recorder, crash alarm and anemometer completed this
system.





1989

In January installed a
Fernau DME System into Jan Smuts Airport, Johannesburg for the Department of Transport RSA. This
equipment being installed with a complete new antenna system and also with a UPS power supply./>

In February installed ground to air communications equipment at Windhoek
Airport, Namibia, for the Department of Transport, Namibia. This comprised of :-

A
1 kilowatt 6 channel HF Transmitting unit, complete with aerial and earth mat. This transmitter
working via a frequency shift keying remote control network system, also installed by ourselves. At
the receiver station of this system, we installed a system comprising six separate HF Receivers,
with all functions (ie. channel select, volume, mute, etc.) controlled in the ATC tower via a
landline network. We also installed at Windhoek a VHF ground to air communications system,
comprising four emergency transceivers and associated antenna equipment, this equipment being
complete with a DC emergency back up system, installed by ourselves.

1989
/> In May commenced the installation of the ground movement radar system at DF Malan Airport,
Cape Town for the Department of Transport, RSA. This work involved the installation of the radar
turning unit on the Control Tower roof, monitor and operator units in the ATC Tower, main equipment
installed just below the control tower and further engineers remote unit installed at ground floor
level. This radar was commissioned in September 1989.


1990

In
February installed a Fernau DME at Windhoek Airport for the Department of Transport, Namibia.
This equipment was co-located with an existing VOR. A remote control unit was part of this
installation.


In October installed a dual NDB system at Ulundi, Kwazulu, for
the Kwazulu Government Service.


1991

In 1991, I made the
transition from Engineering to Sales/Marketing, assuming responsibility for Tendering for Ground
Systems projects. Was successful in bringing to the Decca order book the following:

1991

In March, complete refurbishment and
re-commissioning to Manufacturer's original specification of the Fernau VHF Direction Finding System
at Windhoek International Airport, for the Department of Transport, Namibia.

/> In June, a single NDB system at the Samancor Mine, Hothazel, Northern Cape.

/> In September, two Dual NDB systems for the Department of Transport, RSA. These systems are
situated in Margate, Natal.


In November, two Dual NDB systems for the
Swaziland Government at Matsapha Airport, Kwaluseni, Swaziland.


1992/>
In January, complete refurbishment of one Dual NDB system and the installation of
another Dual NDB system at Umtata Airport for the Transkei Department of Civil Aviation.

In March, a meteorological system at Matsapha Airport, Swaziland, for the Swaziland
Government.


In April, a VHF Direction Finding System at Pilanesberg Airport,
Bophuthatswana, for the Department of Civil Aviation, Bophuthatswana.


1993/>
In January, a control tower UPS system at Matsapha Airport, Swaziland, for the Swaziland
Government.


In May, a radio controlled obstruction light system at Moshoeshoe
Airport, Lesotho for the Lesotho Department of Civil Aviation. This system comprises of six
individual remote sites, each site being equipped with a solar powered obstruction light (flashing
beacon). Control/monitoring is achieved via a control centre installed in the airport control
tower.


In August, commencement of complete airport installation in Botswana.
Equipment installed includes D.V.O.R, D.M.E, I.L.S, Two Dual N.D.B's, Ground-Air Communications
and a complete A.T.C. facility which includes VCCS, AFTN and Meteorological Equipment.

In September, a UHF Radio System for ground control purposes at DF Malan Airport, Cape
Town at the Flitestar Operations Room.


1994

In February, a
complete Air Traffic Control Tower Suite for the Kwazulu Government at Ulundi Airport. Equipments
included ATC Console, Ground-Air Communications, MET System, Voice Recorder and Emergency Power
System.


In March, an Integrated Remote Maintenance Monitoring Radio Telemetry
System at Matsapha Airport, Swaziland, for the Swaziland Department of Civil Aviation.
/> The equipment comprises a PC Based Control/Monitoring Radio Telemetry Network which provides
Control/Monitoring of V.O.R., D.M.E, I.L.S and Obstruction Lighting Sites. (Six Remote Sites in
total.)


In August, a single N.D.B. System at Ruacana, Namibia, for the
Namibian Electricity supply commission Swawek.


In November, completed the
Botswana Airport Project.


In December, initial site survey for the
installation and commissioning of a Doppler V.O.R. at Lungi Airport for the Department of Civil
Aviation, Sierra Leone.

1996

In January, commencement of the
installation of new Radar Display equipment and Monopulse Secondary Surveillance Radar System, at
Durban International and Port Elizabeth Airports, for the ATNS Company RSA.

This
project, a joint venture between Decca and Thomson CSF Airsys, provides for the ATC Centres to be
equipped with a Thomson-CSF Airsys Eurocat 1000 Display System, including Large screen high
resolution colour displays, Flight Data Processing, Inter-centre Secondary Surveillance Radar code
correlation and Radar hand-off facilities, as well as a Thomson CSF Airsys RSM970 Monopulse
Secondary Surveillance Radar.

Scheduled project completion is January 1997 for Durban
and March 1997 for Port Elizabeth.

In February, commencement of a complete Air
Traffic Control Tower Suite at Gateway International Airport, Pietersburg.
Equipment includes
ATC Console, Ground Air Communications, Voice Logging Recorder, VDF System, UPS and NAVAIDS
Monitoring System.

In July 1996 we completed the Pietersburg (GATEWAY) Control
Tower Project.

1997

In February, commenced work on the provision of an
ADS/CPDLC workstation at Johannesburg International Airport for ATNS South Africa
This
system, the first in the african region will be used to conduct trials in association with a number
of FANS equipped Aircraft. Trials will be conucted mainly in the Indian Ocean RNAV area.
/> In March 1997 we commenced the initial planning for a complete ATC refurbishment programme for
the Department of Civil Aviation, SWAZILAND.

This project provides for replacement of
ground air communication, meteorology and VCCS systems at MATSAPHA AIRPORT.This was completed in
August 1997.

In May 1997 we commenced the project planning phase for a full
countrywide VHF ground-air communications system for ATNS South Africa. This project will run for
approximately 3 - 4 years and will be in effect a TOTAL RE-EQUIPMENT of the South African civil
airspace VHF communications network.

In September 1997 we entered into a contract
with ATNS South Africa for the provision of a further five MSSR systems at various locations
Countrywide, plus the provision of a Eurocat 1000 Display System at Capetown International
Airport.
This project is once again a joint venture agreement between Decca and Thomson CSF
and was awarded as a result of the success of the Durban and Port Elizabeth project. (see January
1996)
Site acceptance of the ADS/CPDLC took place during September1997.

In
October 1997 we installed a Dual NDB System at Oudtshoorn Airport for the Oudtshoorn
Municipality.

1998

In March 1998 we entered into an extension of the
MSSR contract with ATNS South Africa, the extension being for one additional MSSR plus three
Primary Radar systems in South Africa.This revised contract is scheduled for completion in the year
2000. Upon completion this will bring the number of radar systems supplied/installed in South Africa
by Decca/ThomsonCSF to Eleven, with Three control centres.

1999 – 2002
/> Full time involvement with contractual matters and contract variation orders etc. for the (May
1997 and March 1998) contracts with ATNS.

2002

Resigned from Decca
(Now Racal) and joined SAM Holdings of Rivonia. My responsibility was to develop an airports
division within that organisation, trading as Patron Airport Systems, Pty Ltd.

Was
responsible for bringing the following projects to the Patron order book:

2003/>
In MAY Entered into a contract with the SUDAN Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) for the
supply, delivery, installlation and commissioning of an HF RADIO System at Khartoum International
Airport. This system comprised of THREE prefabricated equipment shelters, TWO containing:/>
1 kW HF Transmitter (Rohde & Schwarz)

This contract is for DVOR/DME plus associated VHF radio
link equipment at FOUR SITES in Zambia.


2004

Entered into a
contract with Indra of Spain and the Government of Botswana for the complete replacement of the ADOC
(Air Defence Operations Centre) at Gabarone.

2005

In May resigned my
position to become self-employed, operating as Erimus Consulting and Services c.c.
