Personal Statement
Born in Aberdeen, I am a young single highly enthusiastically motivated and conscientious Mechanical
Technician currently working as a Field Service Engineer with Sulzer Wood. Working offshore for the
past three years has exposed me to the challenges that this unique environment has to deal with and
can say with all honesty I have enjoyed this type of vocation. I am an extremely safety conscious
individual who will not take shortcuts and can be trusted to work on my own initiative while
following recognised procedures. I am a team player who knows my weaknesses and I am not shy to ask
for help from others when the needs arise.


Work Experience
02/2002-Present Field Service Engineer Sulzer Wood

Repair, installation and
commissioning of pumps and ancillary equipment, Working with other various types of rotating
equipment, Gas compressors, Turbines, Gearboxes etc. Mainly working at offshore installations
within the North Sea. Also working worldwide.

08/2001-02/2002 Wireline operator
Baker Atlas

Maintaining & Operating plant related to wireline operations,
Winch units, Diesel/Hydraulic power packs etc. Ensuring equipment is in safe condition for use./> Mainly working in the North Sea also through out the world.



/> 02/1998-08/2001 4 year apprenticeship Ferrier Pumps Ltd Mechanical engineer/fitter
/> Repair, overhaul, installation and commissioning of pumps, pumping systems and ancillary
equipment; this included initial assessment and costing of parts and labour.
/> Competence in the use of a variety of workshop equipment associated with repair and manufacture
of components. This includes drilling and milling machines, lathes etc. and various types of welding
equipment.

I also gained knowledge of electrical systems and faultfinding
techniques.
