Personal Statement
Recently graduated from the Open University with a BA (Hons) in Humanities with Classical Studies
(2:1), I am looking to pursue a challenging career change with a view to working in education at a
later date. I am especially keen on special needs education and already have some basic classroom
experience in that field. In 2000 as part of my degree, I undertook a project looking at the
provision for special educational needs (including ADHD, dyslexia and physical disability) in local
schools. I am an enthusiastic, dedicated and reliable young individual who is consistent, reliable,
practical, computer literate, organised, innovative, methodical, patient, polite, adaptable and easy
to work with. I have experience in reception, customer service and retail, with some supervisory
experience. Used to dealing with people face to face and via telephone, problem solving and
multitasking. I am keen to develop my existing abilities and develop new skills.
